So these are essentially fully-furnished, unoccupied residences or are there certain floors dedicated to a hotel portion?
Looks very nice and prices aren't too bad. I have mixed feelings about the residential look of the rooms--while on the one hand nice, they look too much like a home. They don't have the same vibrance some other Las Vegas suites have.
Kitchenette and balconies are definintely unique, but "Maximum Vegas" looks like it's quite a hike away unless they're offering some kind of shuttle service.
The Release said 576 units will be available in each of the three towers, so most of the inventory will be rented. When you consider this means 1,728 units will be added to MGM Grand's room inventory, it's got to be good for MGM's bottom line.
Mike, next time you're there, check out the models. They're still on Studio Walk. They're basically large hotel rooms, some of them put together to form suites. The appliances and furnishings are all high-end. When I looked at them several years ago, I asked myself why someone would pay close to $1 million for a condo-hotel suite when they could buy a comparable unit (at the time) at Turnberry. Owners who put their units in MGM's room inventory lose a large percentage of the rent to MGM.
There will be enclosed moving walkways to the main hotel.
