Two bits of MGM Mirage news this morning.

First off, MGM has created a realty company to sell condos in City Center. The unique move will enable buyers to purchase direct from the developer.

Next up, a press release talking about upcoming evening pool parties at TI. Honestly, the pools at all these hotels seems like a very underutilized nighttime asset.

The TI event is called 'Whisper' and runs Thursdays in August and Labor Day Monday, 6pm-11pm.

I'm at Bellagio now, and the CityCenter Sales Office opened this morning. It's right off the Conservatory, near the entrance to the parking garage. It's great looking with glass walls fronting the Conservatory and the hallway. There is a scale model of CityCenter which gave me a better understanding of the project. It looks very good. MGM's new casino hotel will be huge and very curved, contemporary looking. The sales guy said it and Bellagio will be equal in price point and luxury, but the contemporary new one will probably relegate Bellagio to Number 2. The monorail which used to connect Bellagio with Monte Carlo will be re-opened with stops throughout CityCenter. No prices on the condos, condo/hotels. I filled out the Interest Card and was told I'd get info in a month or two. The card asked what price range I was interested in. Choices were Under $750,000, $750-1 Million, 1 Million+. They stopped me from taking photos inside the sales center, but let me take photos through the glass wall. I'll see if they came out sometime over the weekend.

Detroit, thanks for the update! Looking forward to seeing any reports and pictures you have. How long have you been out there this time around?

On another forum someone claimed that they saw some drilling activity on the Fountainbleu (sp?) site north of the Riveria? Have you been up that way?

Check out the Vegas Today and Tomorrow page for recent construction pics at various properties. Speculation on water feature at Encore (maybe like Macau's?), based on hole adjacent to hotel tower.

I saw that and while things may have changed since I saw the plans, I'm pretty sure it is no water feature and instead is just a casino basement/back of house area - all that stuff is underground at Encore (and pretty much every property on the Strip).

That area where the hole is will have a garden and casino on top of it, not an outdoor water feature, plus the entrance will be much closer down towards Desert Inn Road, not between the properties.
