I posted the second episode of the "Worst Las Vegas Podcast". Yes, it's two podcasts in a week. That's the way this thing is gonna be... Anyway, in this episode I talk about the Playboy Club at the Palms, a special talk with my friend Kevin on the Barbary Coast, and finally, a re-cap on my Bellagio tour from June.
I hope you enjoy, it's getting cheesier each time.

Nice work Hunter. Loved the music.
I'll dearly miss the Barbary Coast when it's gone. Never did stay there, but I personally think it's the only remaining hotel in Vegas that has that old school vibe without the air of depression typically associated with some downtown and off-strip properties. Something tells me I'll be playing a lot of $5 pai gow there in November when I'm staying at Bellagio across the street.
I finally got internet access back and listened to the two podcast episodes. They're great. Hunter, you have an easy manner about you which makes them very interesting listening. Your description of Bellagio's "liquor gun control center" was fascinating.
I agreed with many of your comments about the Palms, and we'll see how successful the Playboy Club is. I have my doubts. The concept seems very last century. Hugh Hefner is now 80. When he opened the Playboy Clubs forty or more years ago, society was different. We even had a Playboy Club in Detroit which I went to in the mid-1960's. What seemed sort of edgy back then comes across quaint and old fashioned today. Will 20-somethings be interested? There are more than enough clubs in Las Vegas which I think will have more appeal than "your grandfather's club."
I haven't seen any reviews about the opening, but the Review Jouurnal had the following AP story:

Thanks detroit - I had a lot of fun doing it. The cheesy music might be over the top but I'm emphasizing the lo-fi aspect of the thing.
Expect more of these but I'm not committing to a schedule. I enjoy writing but some things are easier (for me) to describe in conversation.
Thanks for listening.
Just got back from the Playboy Club, it's packed, but have no fear the Palms will screw this up. There used to be a time when the club lines were crazy now you can easily get into Rain or Ghost Bar so let's see how much buzz this place has in six months.
I digging the podcast, the Barbary Coast RULES! and by the way I heard a rumor than the Steve Wynn tripped on a stroler outside his office at The Mirage and they've been banned from his properties ever since.
By the way Bellagio's VIP area will be open soon and by the end of the year the casino area will be totally re-done.
See you in Vegas!
Thanks Bill - good info. I don't know how eager I am to go to the Playboy Club, though I'll probably check it out as people will no doubt be asking me about it on the site.
