This week's Las Vegas Business Press discusses planned changes and an expansion at Paris. Is Harrah's concerned about pedestrian safety, or is it a great marketing move to bring more Strip visitors into the property? Plans For Paris
I'm visualizing this and it sounds like it will be an eyesore - the Paris drive is kinda nice - won't this block the view of the Arc du Triumph from the Strip?
Sounds like a major 'hack' and I don't believe for a sec that their primary concern is safety.

The Arc is nice, the curved awning over the taxi lanes is nice; but that wide driveway is a pain to walk across (so perhaps, "liability" rather than "safety") and yeah, they gotta have models of pedestrian traffic flow that show all those folks "flowing" by their casino and cafe....mayhaps to drift inside.... (since the original plan to force them inside was nixed).
And the impression on the average pedestrian might be "Oooh, nice" rather than "Damn crazy drivers!" (and by association, "Damn that Paris joint!")
