Backpack Bomb Explodes at Luxor - 1 Dead
Posted by HunterEarly this morning an employee removed a backpack that was sitting on their car when it then exploded, killing the owner of the vehicle and injuring another employee.

Was this a bomb? I hate to use the 't-word' but what does this mean?
Update: Sounds like the police think this was directed at this specific person.

If it was a "t" they would've done it around more people, that way striking fear in people. This was an obvious hit to that person. Mayb it was the mob?
I'm surprised CNN isn't running this news non-stop and jumping to the "t" word.. sigh.

It doesn't sound like terrorism, but if I'm reading news reports correctly, it took three hours or more for the story to surface. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but do the gamers control the news coming out of Vegas?
WYNN, LVS, MGM and BYD are all down 1.5% this afternoon, and CNBC just raised the terrorism issue for gaming stocks. MGM needs to issue a reassuring release on the exact cause, which sounds like a problem between two individuals.

In 2005 there was a gang of hoodlums beating people up as they walked out of a back/side (employee?) entrance of MGM Grand. It took a lot of media pressure to get Sheriff Young to actually say the words "MGM Grand" because they were trying to protect the casino's image through obscurity.
MGM Mirage is very good at squashing stories. I hear from people that work at their properties that there's a lot that never makes it to the news.
Also the MGM Grand incident happened on the street that separates MGM from the movie theater. It's open to the public and until recently not guarded by MGM security.
