OK, I'll be listening soon when I head over to the pool. I can't wait to hear what y'all say about "the new & improved, leaner, meaner Station Casinos"...
Whoops! I didn't realize you didn't even tape it yet. Jeez, I think I partied too hard last night. That's what I get for waking up in Vegas? :-p
So here are some ideas for questions for the show:
- Will Boyd be able to pick up all of the assets Station is planning to sell?
- Who will want to work with the Greenspuns on GVR & Aliante?
- How will Cosmopolitan's opening later this year affect Aria? And Bellagio, for that matter?
- Should MGM Mirage try to buy Cosmo when Deutsche Bank eventually unloads it in order to integrate it into CityCenter?
- And if MGM Mirage does NOT make an offer, who will want Cosmo?
Not sure what you mean - the latest episode was taped Thursday and was in iTunes on Friday.

Oh jeez! Whoops again, then. Sorry about that. I missed it on iTunes. In that case, I will listen today.
I'll say once again that initial enthusiastic reviews of Aria seemed to have more to do with opening night energy, which was huge, and the pent-up hopes that were invested in this seemingly miracle-birth project completion. Someone named Paolo wrote in reference to Vegas Gang #44 that either you have a "culture of service" as a "core competency," or you don't. I have to say, reluctantly, that I am somewhat puzzled by Dr. Dave's almost apologist or evangelist attitude toward the project. I understand, he has invested a career in the study of the gaming industry, and needs to preserve access to the movers & shakers -- I don't mean to imply that this has somehow colored his coverage, only that he has Vegas' success closer to heart than might some detached, outside observer. I guess I've tanked the offer to autograph a copy of "Roll the Bones." But it seems the jury has voted, and Bellagio still wins in the heart & minds department. My "Oh shit" moment, as Chuck called it, occurred without even being a guest as I wandered about the property and, most intensely, tried to drive out and ended up circling to the Valet area, twice.
FWIW, summer offers and package deals now show that Aria, Vdara and Bellagio are selling for a significant premium over Wynn | Encore. So, demand is up at/around City Center, or Wynn is feeling the heat even worse. I'm not qualified to judge which.
For better or worse, Wynn Resorts and Apple are run by dictators with a singular vision and unflappable focus, which no board-run corporate entity can duplicate. As a fan of both, I vote "better."
