Today's my day to catch up on Vegas podcasts, so I'll give yours a listen today. So how was The Trop? Really?
I had a nice stay but the panel overall seemed unconvinced they'll pull it off.
Great show, as usual. Art, in my opinion. Regarding the name of the brilliant final segment. I'm picturing you all at a BlackJack table and Hunter is the dealer; the panel then has a position for discussion and Hunter then can ask each panelist if they want to hit (talk about their subject), or stand.
Regarding the Trop; I think those rooms by the pool are the neatest thing on the Strip (Pimped up, of course). I would pay a premium to be in a low rise, balcony room overlooking the pool. How they can't see the value is beyond me!
Haven't had a chance to listen to the podcast yet, but we just checked into the "new" Tropicana.. Staying in a new Paradise Tower room on the 20th floor.. To sum it all up thus far, check-in was honestly a f-ing a nightmare. Somehow our check-in was at nearly 4pm, when we were told to come back at noon.. Sucks when you just want to check in. on the plus side, the room is great compared to what was here. Could use some blackout shades to complement the shutters, maybe another chair, but overall pretty good. The bamboo bench/chase isn't bad, but could have been better as an actual sofa.
...I think if they work out the situatuon downstairs and redo the rest of the public spaces, they'll meet their target of being align with the TI Luxor group. But that was just the worst check in at any Vegas hotel ever.. On the upside, we kept getting drink comps everytime we tried to check in. Lol. On the downside, they were out of wine and only had beer for those offers. Oh well. Time to hit the strip.
I loved the new final segment of the podcast! As a longtime listener to all Slate podcasts, their final "cocktail chatter" segment is always interesting. I hope you continue this in the future.
